The current maximum household income thresholds for intermediate housing are:
Intermediate rent: £67,000
Shared ownership: £90,000
Our response
The most recent London Plan Annual Monitoring Report (AMR20, covering 2022–23) was published earlier this month and is available here. The next AMR, covering the 2023–24 monitoring period, is currently being prepared and is expected to be published within the next 2–3 months.
The GLA periodically reviews the intermediate housing household income thresholds as part of its monitoring of housing policy with any updates published within an AMR in line with London Plan policy. The next AMR will include a review of these thresholds. The commitment to review the intermediate rent household income threshold was also further reiterated in the GLA’s Accelerating Housing Delivery Practice Note published in December 2024 with a view to increasing this as part of a future AMR.
