Request:

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Code applicable to the UK. Please provide the following details:

1. The oath of office taken by the following individuals:
   a. The current Mayor
   b. The Chief Financial Officer 
   c.  The councilors for the municipality
2. The name of the insurer providing public liability insurance for the council town.
3. The policy number associated with your public liability insurance.

Please find below the information we hold within the scope of your request related to the GLA.

I can confirm that the GLA holds a copy of the declaration of acceptance of office signed by Sir Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London when he was sworn in as Mayor for the third time in May 2024, the text of which is copied below.

The GLA does not hold an equivalent oath by the GLA’s Chief Finance Officer.

The GLA also holds copies of the same declaration as signed by the London Assembly Members.

The GLA is London's strategic government and does not operate in the same way as London’s Borough Councils and does not have any municipal councillors. Further information about the roles of the Mayor and London Assembly can be found on the GLA’s website london.gov.uk.

DECLARATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE

1. I, Sadiq Khan of [address] having assumed the office of the Mayor of London, declare that I take that office upon myself, and will duly and faithfully fulfil the duties of it according to the best of my judgement and ability. (1)
 

2. I undertake that, in performing the functions of that office, I will observe the Greater London Authority’s code of conduct adopted by the Authority from time to time. (2)
