Our response
With reference to Question 1 of your request, the £12.50 Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge acts as a deterrent to discourage drivers of vehicles that are not compliant with the scheme standards for exhaust emissions from driving within the zone, or to encourage them to do so less frequently.
This improves air quality within the zone by reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter from older, more polluting vehicles. All net revenue that Transport for London (TfL) receives from enforcement of the ULEZ must, as a statutory requirement, be
reinvested in London’s transport services.
The GLA does not hold information within the scope of Question 2 of your request.
The GLA does not holdinformation within scope of Question 3 of your request.
TfL is the Mayor's transport authority and is responsible for implementing the Mayor's Transport Strategy, and for the day-to-day operational running of transport services. You may wish to send a further request to TfL at [email protected].
