EIR - Progress towards a public electric vehicle charging network [Oct 2022]

Key information

Request reference number: MGLA290922-0174

Date of response:

Summary of request

Your request

This request is to gather data on progress towards a public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network, following targets set out in the Governments EV strategy launched in March 2022.

Our response

As London’s strategic government, the GLA does not operate in the same way as local Borough Councils. You will need to contact the individual councils regarding this request who will be able to provide you with the data you have requested.

Across all of London there are now 9700 slow-fast chargers, and 765 rapid chargers.

It may be useful to know that, through Transport for London (TfL), we delivered 311 of the 765 rapid charge points in London. We are looking to expand the number of rapid and ultra-rapid charge points available over the coming years, making use of the TfL Road Network, and other land owned by the GLA.

Our strategic approach to achieving this is set out in the Mayor’s 2030 Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy.
