EIR - Plans to add more green area to Upper Thames St [Nov 2021]

Key information

Request reference number: MGLA281021-6308

Date of response:

Summary of request

Your request

Are there plans to add green walls and more trees and hedges on Upper Thames Street?

Did the City of London apply for a grant for more tree planting?

Could you assure me that there are plans and progressions, with this particular area in mind?

Our response

The GLA funded a City of London Corporation tree planting project in West Ham Park in 2018/19 though that project was not within the City of London itself.

City of London were not part of the successful GLA bid to the first round of the Government’s Urban Tree Challenge Fund and are not part of the GLA led bid to the current round of the fund.

The GLA does not hold information specifically relating to green infrastructure plans for Upper Thames Street.

Upper Thames Street is part of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN). Transport for London (TfL) is the Mayor's transport authority and is responsible for implementing the Mayor's Transport Strategy and for the day-to-day operational running of transport services.

You may wish to send a further request to TfL at [email protected]
