EIR - Flood risk within Lewisham [Aug 2026]

Key information

Request reference number: MGLA170826-5998

Date of response:

Summary of request

I notice that the abovementioned document increases the flood risk within the London Borough of Lewisham. Sites particularly affected include Deptford and Lewisham Town Centre.

Please publish any correspondence with the London Borough of Lewisham in relation to the increase in flood risks published in March this year.

Our response

There has been no formal correspondence with Lewisham Council regarding the London Regional Flood Risk Assessment March 2026 (RFRA).

The RFRA was prepared in close cooperation with the Environment Agency, Transport for London, London Resilience, and Thames Water.
The document was then made publicly available on the GLA’s website in March 2026.

It is a technical document that utilises freely available National Flood Risk Mapping which all plan-making authorities must refer to in the course of plan-preparation
