Biography
Katie joined the GLA in December 2024, covering the maternity leave of the substantive post-holder, Nicole Valentinuzzi. She has more than 20 years-experience leading communications, external affairs and partnerships teams in the public and not-for-profit sector, including at Plan International UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital, UNICEF UK and Comic Relief. Katie is a Trustee at the Royal Free Charity and lives in London.
Responsibilities
Katie is the Interim Assistant Director of External Relations, responsible for all external-facing communications and engagement on behalf of the Mayor of London; the Mayor’s events programme and the internal communications for the GLA. She leads a series of high-performing teams covering press, marketing campaigns, creative services, strategic communications, digital, internal communications, events for London, and major sporting events delivery.
