Explaining how we use and protect your information

Your privacy rights

As the OPDC is part of the GLA family, we share the same privacy rights. If you would like to exercise your rights under data protection legislation according to the ‘Your privacy rights’ page, please contact [email protected]

Use of the GLA and OPDC website

The OPDC shares the GLA’s website privacy statement and cookies section (below) explain:

  • what information we may collect about you online
  • how we will use the information collected
  • how we protect the information you give us
  • the use of cookies and how to manage them

Cookies

London.gov saves a piece of text - a cookie - on your computer's hard disk so that it can remember who you are.

A cookie will typically contain the name of the website from which the cookie has come, the lifetime of the cookie and it's name. It does not give us access to the rest of your computer and only the site that created the cookie can read it.

We use the following types of cookie:

Session cookies: to ensure you are recognised when you move from page to page within our site and that any information you enter is remembered.

Persistent cookies: to recognise you as a unique visitor to our website so that we can tailor content to match your interests.

How to manage cookies

YouTube cookies

We embed videos from our YouTube channel, therefore, due to YouTube's privacy-enhanced policy you may find that cookies are set on your computer once you have clicked to play the videos. However, YouTube doesn't store personally-identifiable cookie information relating to playbacks of embedded videos when using their privacy-enhanced mode. You can find out more at YouTube Help.

OPDC newsletters and marketing

If you are currently receiving newsletters or marketing communications from the OPDC and no longer wish to do so, please let us know by emailing [email protected] to our Shared Service Agreements, some of the data collected on the GLA website is managed by the GLA in order to provide technical support.

Sharing personal information

The OPDC will not sell your personal information to anyone for any reason. And we do not share your personal information with any third parties unless they are providing services to us under contract or other formal agreement or disclosure is permitted by, or required by, law. Again, please refer to the relevant privacy pages on this page for more information.

Third-party sites

Some pages on our website contain links to sites owned and operated by third parties. They are required to maintain their own privacy policies. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third-party websites and your use of such websites is at your own risk.

Protecting your personal information

Your trust is very important to us and we are strongly committed to keeping your personal data safe. We will take all necessary measures to ensure your personal information is properly protected and secured. This includes having appropriate technical and organisational arrangements to secure your information.

We will never send an unsolicited message to you to ask you to provide your password, financial details or other sensitive information by email or through a link. If you have any concerns about your personal data held by the GLA and OPDC, please get in touch straight away.

Changes to our privacy pages

We may need to update our privacy pages every so often. The ‘last updated’ date at the top of this page will also change. Any changes to these privacy pages will apply to you and your data immediately, so please check back here regularly. Your continued use of the site will mean that you accept any revisions.

If these changes directly affect how your personal data is processed, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
