OPDC’s engagement team are committed to ensuring the local communities get involved in the future plans for the area.

The ambition is to give the community increased opportunities to hear about OPDC and find out what is happening in the Old Oak and Park Royal area. The broad outline of the team’s responsibilities include:

  • setting-up statutory consultations
  • establishing working groups and partnerships
  • attending local resident association meetings
  • having a presence in the local community.

As well as supporting the wider OPDC team and working with the local community, businesses and voluntary sector, they are also working on plans to hold exciting local events throughout the year.

The team is also responsible for the Community Engagement Strategy, updated in September 2021.

Meet the engagement team

Our engagement team members are often out and about in the local area, and always happy to attend community meetings, or be available to answer questions or just have a chat.

If you would like to find out more about consultations, local events or future plans, please contact us directly.

HS2 Community & Environment Fund

On behalf of HS2, the charity Groundwork is administering two funds that have been announced that are available to local communities that need help with the disruption that will be caused by the construction of Phase one of HS2 between London and the West Midlands; the Community and Environment Fund and the Business and Local Economy Fund. This means that local communities and businesses will now be able to apply for these and there are eligibility checkers on the website for both.

Find out more about how we are working with HS2 on behalf of the local community and businesses.

HS2 activity in the Old Oak area

HS2 have launched a community webpage for the Old Oak area for the local community and businesses. You can find out more about what the proposals are for the route, how it is being constructed and what we are doing to make this less disruptive.

If you have an enquiry or want to make a complaint about HS2 construction, the Independent Construction Commissioner has produced a helpful leaflet.
