Site Description
The site is on Portree Street, which leads to East India Dock Road (A13) via Abbot Road. It is located 0.3 miles from East India DLR station, and 0.5 miles from Canning Town Station (Jubilee Line).
The surrounding area is a mixture of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Local shops and amenities are half a mile to the west on East India Dock Road, whilst Westfield Shopping Centre is around 2 miles to the north.
The site is a vacant triangular plot of low lying vegetation and one mature tree. There is a slight slope from the south east down to the north west. There is direct access from Portree Street on the west side and it runs along Lanrick Road on the east. There is a two-storey end of terrace house on the northern boundary. There was an industrial unit on the site before it was acquired to help build the A13 flyover.
