Response to update in Salisbury investigation

Created on
05 September 2018

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said:

“I am in touch with the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, the Transport Commissioner and my statutory public health adviser, Professor Yvonne Doyle, over the investigation into the Novichok poisoning case. The two named Russian suspects stayed in a London hotel, the City Stay Hotel on Bow Road, on 2 and 3 March before travelling to Salisbury the following day, and used public transport while they were in the capital.

“I am reassured by public health experts that there is no risk to health for passengers and staff on the transport network from this case. Furthermore, all levels of contamination found at the hotel were below those that would cause concern for public health, as the police have made clear.

“If anybody has any information which could help police with their investigation, please call them on 0800 789321.”
