The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I continue to remain in close contact with the Jewish community across our city, who are deeply concerned about a rise in antisemitism.
"Today I met the Met Police Commissioner where we discussed these concerns. Over the past week Londoners will have seen an increased police presence around synagogues and Jewish faith schools. There will continue to be high visibility policing in our communities this weekend.
“We will not allow antisemitism, Islamophobia or any racism in London and I’m determined to do everything I can to stamp it out. The Met Police's zero tolerance approach to hate crime, and the work of partners such as the Community Security Trust, has my full support.
“Those intending to demonstrate this weekend must observe COVID rules, work with our police, treat officers with respect and protest peacefully.”
