Young Londoners’ Question Time

The London Youth Assembly will host a Young Londoners’ Question Time next Tuesday, to discuss matters of importance to London’s youth.

Young people across the capital are invited[1] to watch the event online and ask questions about key issues, including education and the impact of COVID-19[2].

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, will open the event with an address to young people in the capital.

The guests are:

  • Andrew Boff AM, Chair of the London Assembly
  • Sian Berry AM, Member of the London Assembly
  • Kate Green, Shadow Secretary of State for Education
  • Javaun Bance, Peer Outreach Worker
  • Kulvarn Atwal, Head Teacher at Highlands Primary School and Uphall Primary School

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 31 August 2021 from 2pm, in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).

  2. The Chair of the London Youth Assembly recently published a survey, which received over 1000 responses, on education in London and the impact of COVID-19. The Chair and LYA Members have used these findings to feed into a report and recommendations presented to the Mayor of London.
  3. The London Youth Assembly (LYA) is a voluntary federation of existing London boroughs’ youth councils and forums, supported by the Greater London Authority (with the Assembly Secretariat playing the lead role).
