Transport Committee statement on Crossrail 2 business case

Crossrail tunnel
Created on
04 March 2020

Following the Department for Transport’s response to Transport for London’s Crossrail 2 business case submission, Chair of the Transport Committee, Navin Shah AM said:

“We are glad to see TfL’s Crossrail 2 business case receiving a positive reception from the Department for Transport. This goes some way in making Crossrail 2 happen, but there is still a long way to go. A decision on the funding for this major infrastructure project in the Spending Review is urgently needed.

“Dither and delay will get us nowhere and we want to see this critical project given the get go as soon as possible. It is not just to the benefit of London, but the country as a whole.”
