Created on
29 May 2020

The funding and financing deal from the Department for Transport to Transport for London (TfL) has been published online within agenda papers for an upcoming TfL Board meeting.

Dr Alison Moore AM, Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee said:

“The Transport Committee is pleased that the funding and financing deal from the Department for Transport to TfL has been published in full, as we called for this in aid of transparency and openness.”

“The Committee will be going through this deal with a fine-tooth comb, in order to assess any possible implications for TfL’s financial future and for Londoners.”

“Of the many areas covered in the deal, we particularly note the Government-led review of TfL’s future financial position and financial structure. The deal suggests a review with a big scope and with significant implications for London, not least in terms of fares and TfL’s capital spending programme, and so the transport services that Londoners rely on.”

“We hope for swift publication of the review’s Terms of Reference, and for the opportunity for the Assembly to input into the review, to help ensure the best outcome for all Londoners.”
