New Director of London TravelWatch welcomed by Assembly

The London Assembly today welcomed the appointment of Emma Gibson as the new Director of London TravelWatch [1], the statutory watchdog for transport users in and around London.

Emma is an experienced voluntary sector leader, having worked for Friends of the Earth as Acting Director of Campaigning Impact. She brings with her extensive experience in strategy and campaigning and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Emma will join London TravelWatch in the New Year, forming part of a new leadership team.

The appointment was made by the Board of London TravelWatch and approved by the London Assembly Transport Committee.

Emma Gibson, newly appointed Director of London TravelWatch, said:

"I'm really excited about boosting the voice of transport users in our campaigns to improve public transport into and around London.

“I'm looking forward to building a close relationship with the London Assembly Transport Committee and working together to make London's transport system the best in the world."

“The Transport Committee looks forward to working closely with Emma, as she forms part of the organisation’s new senior leadership team.”
