News from Navin Shah (past staff): Assembly Member urges Harrow residents to take up Covid tests

Created on
12 January 2021

In response to the news that five new lateral flow testing centres have now opened up across Harrow as part of efforts to identify more asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the community, local London Assembly Member, Navin Shah AM, said:

“I urge members of our community to take advantage of the council’s rapid testing programme, where they are able to. These tests are available to anyone without symptoms, and you will receive a result within an hour.

“A large number of COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic, which means many will be unknowingly transmitting the virus to others. These new testing centres will boost efforts to find those cases and break the chain of infection.

“We know that cases in Harrow have been high throughout this difficult time. This is our chance to keep ourselves and our neighbours safe while we wait for the vaccine rollout to reach us.”

Notes to editors

  • Testing sites have opened across the borough at St Ann’s Shopping Centre, Harrow Arts Centre, Cambridge Road Car Park, Harrow Civic Centre (Buildings 5&6) and Shree Swaminarayan Temple. Residents can book a test by visiting harrow.gov.uk/test.
