
In its first meeting of the new term, the London Assembly has today elected a new Chair and Deputy Chair for the year ahead.
New Chair of the London Assembly, Dr Onkar Sahota AM said:
“In what has been a very difficult couple of years for Londoners and our city, I would like to thank Andrew Boff AM who has chaired the Assembly during the past challenging year.
“During the year ahead, the London Assembly will continue to hold the Mayor to account on issues that matter most to Londoners. As our city rebuilds from COVID-19, Londoners will need strong voices representing them from every corner of our city.
“The London Assembly is elected by you, to look out for you. Our role is to ensure that London continues to be a great place to live and work.”
Andrew Boff AM has been elected as Deputy Chair.
The Assembly also agreed the Membership and Chairs of a range of Committees to lead investigations into issues ranging from public transport to the Mayor’s budget.
