City Hall Landscape Blue Sky
Created on
11 January 2021

On Monday, 4 January 2021, the Prime Minister announced that England would enter its 3rd national lockdown in 10 months to help stop the spread of COVID-19 around the country. Cases are still rising across every London Borough and hospitals are seeing an increase in the number of people being admitted with COVID-19 every day.

While the measures are necessary to protect Londoners and the NHS, the London Assembly will tomorrow discuss what the third lockdown means for London, the NHS and economy going forward?

The guests are:

  • Professor Kevin Fenton, Public Health England Regional Director for London and statutory health adviser to the Mayor and GLA
  • Dr Fiona Twycross, Deputy Mayor, Fire and Resilience
  • John Barradell, Chief Executive of the City of London Corporation and Co-Chair of the COVID-19 Strategic Coordination Group
  • Rajesh Agrawal, Deputy Mayor for Business
  • Martin Machray, Joint Regional Chief Nurse and Covid-19 Incident Director at NHS London

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 12 January 2021 from 10am. In line with Government advice, this meeting will take place virtually.

Media and members of the public can watch the meeting live here.
