In response to Transport for London’s (TfL) announcement that a new temporary cycle route has opened in Greenwich between the Old Royal Naval College and Angerstein Roundabout, local London Assembly Member, Len Duvall AM, said:

“This is positive news for local people, providing a protected and more straightforward route through the Angerstein Roundabout for cyclists and pedestrians.

“It is good to see something being done about this junction which can be very dangerous to navigate and where a cyclist tragically died in 2018.

“Looking ahead to our long-term recovery from the pandemic with the roll-out of the vaccine, it is vital that we continue to make cycling safer and more accessible for Londoners.

“This temporary lane forms part of a larger cycle highway network connecting up South East London, and when fully completed, it will offer Londoners another healthy and sustainable way of getting around our city”.
