News from Joanne McCartney: Liveable Neighbourhoods to rejuvenate Enfield Town

Created on
05 March 2019

In response to Transport for London’s announcement that Enfield has been awarded a share of £53.4 million of funding from the Mayor’s Liveable Neighbourhoods programme, local London Assembly Member, Joanne McCartney AM, said:

“I am delighted that Enfield Council’s bid for this funding has been successful. This will go towards helping to transform and rejuvenate Enfield Town, vastly improving the public space and providing much safer and easier routes for cyclists and pedestrians to navigate.

“This investment will make our town centre more attractive, support businesses and improve air quality.”

“For too long, our high streets, town centres and neighbourhoods have suffered from Government underinvestment, so it is very positive that City Hall is working to turn the tide on the years of neglect”.
