In response to new figures showing that the number of times that legal hourly air pollution limits were breached in Hanger Lane Gyratory and Western Avenue in Ealing has fallen dramatically since 2016, with no breaches so far this year, local London Assembly Member, Onkar Sahota AM, said:

“It is fantastic to see how these air pollution hotspots in our borough have been tackled head-on over the last few years. This shows that the plethora of measures being undertaken by City Hall to protect the health of Londoners are starting to have a significant impact.

“Toxic air is a silent killer, disproportionately affecting the most deprived communities, contributing to the premature deaths of almost 10,000 Londoners per year and stunting the lung development of our children.

“We can now look forward to the extension of the ULEZ next year, which is set to build upon this progress even further”.
