In response to Transport for London’s (TfL)’s announcement that Hanwell rail station is now step-free from street to platform, local London Assembly Member, Dr Onkar Sahota AM, said:

“It is fantastic news that step-free access is now available to passengers from the Southern entrance of the station. This will make journeys in and out of London so much easier for local people with disabilities, mobility issues and pushchairs.

“It is of course absolutely vital that our transport network is opened up to all Londoners, so it has been very positive to see the efforts being undertaken by TfL and the investment made by City Hall to improve accessibility at tube and rail stations.

“I am looking forward to seeing TfL complete its work this summer to make all of the station’s entrances and its toilet accessible, alongside the refurbishment of the waiting room”.
