In response to the news that City Hall has awarded emergency funding to support several creative workspaces and artist’s studios in Ealing, local London Assembly Member, Onkar Sahota AM, said:

“This vital emergency funding for creative workspaces and studios in our community is timely, with many having been pushed to the brink in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“It’s great to see City Hall target this investment at businesses and organisations led by women, Londoners from a BAME background, the LGBTQ+ community and people with disabilities.

“Protecting our cultural and creative sectors from the worst impacts of the pandemic will be a crucial facet of our local and citywide economic recovery in the coming months.

“When the creative industries are given the tools to thrive, we see not just the enrichment of the social fabric of our communities, but the large-scale creation of jobs and opportunities for the next generation of Londoners”.
