Crossrail warning signs: where does the buck stop?

Created on
20 December 2018

The announcement that the launch of Crossrail would be delayed was made in August 2018.

Since then, there have been claims and counterclaims about who knew what and when they found out.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, claims he first knew on 29th August – two days before the delay was made public.

The former chair of Crossrail, Sir Terry Morgan, claims he told the Mayor at the end of July in a briefing document.

At an Extraordinary meeting tomorrow, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, as Chair of Transport for London (TfL) will appear before the London Assembly Transport Committee after being summonsed to answer questions on the Crossrail delay.

Also summonsed to the meeting is Mike Brown MVO, TfL Commissioner.

Documents detailing the briefings given to Sadiq Khan in July on Crossrail delays have also been summonsed.

The meeting will take place on Friday, 21 December at 10:00am in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).

Media and members of the public are invited to attend

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or YouTube
