Len Duvall OBE AM, Chair of the London Assembly GLA Oversight Committee said:
“Today, the GLA Oversight Committee met with the Minster for London, Paul Scully MP. We discussed the Government’s funding deal for TfL.
“The Government need to be transparent and urgently publish the deal so that we are able to assess it in its entirety, and the Mayor will need to be clear about what he thought took place.
“Tomorrow, the London Assembly will meet with the Mayor. We will ask for clarification on the re-introduction of ULEZ, the rise in congestion charge, the over 60s Freedom Pass and the rise in fares.
“As public bodies across the UK respond to COVID-19 it is in everyone’s interest that we get these answers. The London Assembly will continue to play a key role in asking the important questions so that Londoners know why and how decisions impacting them were made.”
