Assembly responds to the death of police officer in Croydon

Chair of the London Assembly Police & Crime Committee, Unmesh Desai AM, said:

“Early this morning, a police officer was tragically shot dead in Croydon. All of those involved on the Assembly are deeply saddened by this news.

“Police officers risk their lives every day for Londoners and put themselves in dangerous situations to ensure that our city is safe. Their bravery and dedication to our safety should never go unnoticed.

“On behalf of the London Assembly, I send my deepest condolences to the officer’s family, friends, and colleagues at this extremely difficult time.”
