Assembly responds to London violence

Complaints
Created on
09 September 2019

In response to the number of London homicides surpassing 100 this year, Chairman of the London Assembly Police & Crime Committee, Unmesh Desai AM, said:

“Last night, more acts of violence saw London’s homicide figures surpass 100[1] for this year. Every death leaves families, friends and communities devastated and our hearts go out to those who are mourning.

“Too many people are losing their lives due to violence. The Met Police are doing everything they can with the resources they have but they need more support.

“The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee is urging the Mayor to continue to call on the Government to give London more police officers to help fight violent crime across the capital.”
