In response to the news that the New Bloomsbury Set has been awarded £10,000 in emergency funding by City Hall amidst the pandemic, local London Assembly Member, Andrew Dismore AM, said:

“The impact of the pandemic on our arts and culture sector has been huge, and if left unchecked, it will not only lead to more job losses, but threaten the social fabric of our capital.

“This is a very positive intervention from City Hall, providing a lifeline to this LGBTQ+ venue in our community which provides a safe space for thousands of Londoners each year.

“It is crucial that these venues are given the tools to both survive the difficult months ahead and thrive again in the future. The Government must also give the sector another shot in the arm, as we enter a potential second wave”.
