In response to Transport for London’s announcement that Camden has been awarded a share of £53.4 million of funding from the Mayor’s Liveable Neighbourhoods programme, local London Assembly Member, Andrew Dismore AM, said:

“I am delighted that Camden Council’s bid for this funding has been successful. This will go towards helping to transform and rejuvenate Holborn, vastly improving the public space and providing much safer and easier routes for cyclists and pedestrians to navigate.

“Reducing car use in the community, wherever possible, plays a significant role in tackling air pollution and encouraging local people to adopt healthier lifestyles.

“For too long, our high streets, town centres and neighbourhoods have suffered from Government underinvestment, so it is very positive that City Hall is working to turn the tide on the years of neglect”.
