Tall Buildings - redevelopment of Edith Summerskill House

Key information

Petition presented by: Steve O'Connell Assembly Member

Date petition submitted: Thursday 7 June 2018

Petition presented at: London Assembly Plenary

Summary of petition

“Local residents call on Mayor of London to veto plans to build an eighty-metre tower in Fulham.

The planning application has been called in by the Mayor of London who is concerned about the plans. The proposal is:

• To redevelop and sell all the social housing in Watermeadow Court (Sand’s End) at market prices.

• To build a new tower of affordable housing on St Thomas Way.

The tower will be 80 metres in height (over 20 metres higher that the old tower) with double the footprint. This will have a huge impact on the local community. The result will be fewer social housing units than before. Many local residents agree with the Mayor and are calling on the Labour Council to rethink their plans.”
