Temporary stop for P12 bus

  • Reference: 2008/0363
  • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
  • Meeting date: 20 February 2008
Due to Thames Water works on Ivydale Rd the P12 bus is currently diverted. These works will be continuing until at least May - and due to complications very likely even longer. Residents have complained to me that no temporary bus stop has been provided along the diversion and they face a long walk to the nearest stop. Will TfL introduce a temporary stop on the route?

East London Line Replacement Buses 2

  • Reference: 2008/0362
  • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
  • Meeting date: 20 February 2008
Rotherhithe peninsular residents have complained to me that at peak hours they are often left stranded at bus stops, as the 381 buses are too full to let them on. It is extremely frustrating for them to see empty ELP replacement bus fly by without stopping. This service - an old double decker bus circling the peninsular rarely carrying even a single passenger - could easily be converted into a service that will really benefit residents by allowing it to pick up passengers on Salter Road. Will you make this change?

In your answer to question 159/2008 you stated that the alternative travel arrangements during the closure of the East London Line would be reviewed this month. As part of this review will you consider providing a mini-bus service to help the few passengers whose journey would be considerably shortened by the provision of a link from Canada Water to Limehouse?

The 6-month trial by TfL introducing a 07:00-19:00 bus lane on the A10 northbound carriage way between White Hart Lane and the Cambridge roundabout is coming to a close. Local residents have reported that the experiment caused severe congestion at all times on the A10 as well as additional traffic using Chequers Way to access the roundabout via Ostliffe Road. They feel that the trial opening hours have severly inconvenienced them, more so than non-local drivers who tend to keep out of bus lanes as a matter of course. Could this particular bus lane therefore be reversed to its original...

  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 20 February 2008
Residents have complained to me that a bus stop on Tottenham High Road (outside the 'Pepper & Spice' and opposite Barclays Bank) has been removed and not replaced. This is causing problems for local users, especially the elderly, as the distance between stops is now too far for comfort. Please can this stop be reinstated?
