In the past few months, I have dealt with two cases of serious and intimidating verbal abuse on buses: one racist, the other homophobic. On both occasions, it turned out that the CCTV was unusable because only images are recorded and not sound. Could you explain the rationale behind the exclusion of any sound recording on buses? c

The chair of the Leyton Orient Fans Trust (LOFT) felt that your answer to question 0514/2011 was patronising and offensive and seemed to imply that their fears about the fate of the club are groundless.
