Gallions Reach Ferry

  • Reference: 2012/3440
  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 21 November 2012
Your consultation on building a ferry at Gallions Reach makes clear that you can use this as a stepping stone to building a road bridge at this location at a future date. Why did you keep open this future option, rather than ruling out building a road bridge at Gallions Reach, as you promised the people of Bexley?

20mph Speed Limits

  • Reference: 2012/3439
  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 21 November 2012
Your initiative within the Mayor's recent publication, 'Towards a road safety action plan for London', recognises the complexity of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) and states that it will "consider lower speed limits on these routes". Will you explore the scope for this with Islington, Camden and other boroughs who have indicated that they wish to introduce borough-wide 20 mph limits, including those parts of the TLRN where people live, work and shop?

Engineering Works and Pay As You Go fares on Overground

  • Reference: 2012/3438
  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 21 November 2012
Recent engineering works affecting Overground services from West Croydon/Crystal Palace to Highbury and Islington have required passengers wishing to avoid significant delays to travel via London Bridge and take the Jubilee Line. Passengers using a Travelcard including zone 1 whose journeys take them unavoidably out of their zones have been charged on the basis of this being a journey on National Rail. Will the Mayor implement an easement so that passengers arriving at London Bridge station in these circumstances are no longer penalised in this way?
