In the Consolidated Climate Budget, you show £38m being spent over three years on installing heat pumps and other green energy solutions. The benefits are listed as: “Staff comfort and well-being, community well-being, enhanced community use that will reduce London's health inequalities, decreasing isolation and loneliness, strengthening connections within and across communities, and reducing youth violence.” How can you justify this expenditure given the policing crisis in London?

Advertising at Tube Stations by Islamic Relief Worldwide

  • Reference: 2025/0807
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 20 March 2025
Islamic Relief Worldwide has been banned by UAE for funding terrorist groups in the Middle East. An investigation into the organisation by the US State Department concluded: “It is incumbent on all people of good conscience to stand strong and exhibit zero tolerance for the blatant and horrifying anti-Semitism and glorification of violence exhibited at the most senior levels of IRW.” Islamic Relief advertising is now on display at a number of London Underground stations including East Ham and Ilford. Since advertising of cake is prohibited on TfL, what action do you propose concerning Islamic Relief? https://www.thirdsector.co.uk/islamic-relief-denies-terrorism-links-bla… https://www.ft.com/content/09e13dee-6db8-11e4-bf80-00144feabdc0 https://www.thetimes.com/article/controversial-muslim-charity-sets-up-b…

ULEZ Revenues

  • Reference: 2025/0801
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 20 March 2025
You described the ULEZ extension as “necessary to save lives, protect children's lungs and help reduce the risk of Londoners developing asthma, dementia and a host of other health issues.” Many remain sceptical about this but what is undeniable is that the extension is a generator of revenue. This was acknowledged by Transport for London in its 2021 Report, New Revenue Sources, which projected an annualised net revenue for the scheme of £100m. As Chair of Transport for London, can you confirm how the extension is performing against its revenue target in the year to date since August 2024?

Commemorating the Bibas Family

  • Reference: 2025/0800
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 20 March 2025
Berlin, Budapest, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, New York, Niagara, Tirana, Perpignan, Los Angeles, Rome and Sao Paolo all lit up prominent public buildings in orange to commemorate the members of the Bibas family so cruelly murdered by Hamas. The Campaign Against Antisemitism contacted your office to request a similar gesture in London on 27th February but heard nothing in response. Why was there no similar public commemoration in London?
