So is that not a greater case for a zero energy tram or trolley bus scheme, which was as proposed initially? I do not follow your logic at all.

The problem with trams like Croydon tram is that they lose an awful lot of money; trams are very expensive systems. I was wondering whether one of the best answers for transport through Thames Gateway was going to be the river? Yesterday I was taking some evidence from people who provide services, such as Thames Clipper, who would absolutely love to get stuck in and start providing a decent river transport system for Thames Gateway. Are you going to be supporting moves of that sort, because that might well be a much cheaper option and much more quickly available?

So are you saying that this projection of 91,000 homes is not now correct?

Thank you, Mr Mayor. You yourself have said that you believe 91,000 homes will be built in the Thames Gateway, inside London, which equates to around 205,000 in population, which is the same as the size of Milton Keynes. TfL are now saying we do not actually need a zero capacity transit scheme, even though it is this large in terms of residents. Are you saying there will not be enough demand?

Without guessing what my report is going to finally say, I think we are discovering that the costs are not actually as great as are being made out. The river is already there. There is no need to put the infrastructure in. I just ask again, would it not be at least some of the solution in and out of Thames Gateway?

In your letter, or letter from your office, on 23 December, it suggested that if there was to be a choice it would be Greenwich. Then your subsequent letter ' I think it is the 20th, it may be the 28th February ' you then changed that to say we want both. Given there is only going to be one, which are you going to press for, and why?

TfL Cinema Adverts (Supplementary) [14]

One is tempted to speculate on what Gordon Ramsay's words would be if he was caught using public transport in London off the advert. I suspect it might not be entirely complimentary.
