FOI - London Stadium and GLA precept

Key information

Summary of request

My GLA rates are to increase by over 5% this coming Fiscal year. It was recently reported that the Mayor had seized control of the management of the London Stadium as Newham Council could not afford the cost of running the football events. There have been several incidences whereby West Ham supporters have caused criminal damage to the London Stadium and I am told the GLA Rate Payer is picking up the tab for repairing the damage (ripped up seats). I have read in The Times newspaper that after the recent events involving disgruntled West Ham supporters there is to be a Police presence in the stadium for the last 5 home games at a cost of £900,000 per game, which will be paid by the GLA Rate Payer! Surely this cannot be right. Can you tell me what portion of my GLA rate am I paying in order that a 'Premiership' football club can play football whilst it receives huge amounts of cash from television rights..
