Motion detail

Hina Bokhari AM moved, and Andrew Boff AM seconded the following motion:

This Assembly notes:

  • That the British Volleyball Federation (BVF) are seeking a permanent training and events home for beach volleyball, volleyball (Olympic sports) and sitting volleyball (Paralympic sport).
  • That the BVF considers the London area as being the preferred location.
  • That such a training home is needed to start training next year to start preparations in anticipation of 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
  • That the BVF are working with IBB Polonia, the oldest volleyball club in England to secure a long-term home for British Volleyball.

This Assembly calls on the Mayor to:

  • To reach out to the BVF and IBB Polonia and discuss the requirements of a permanent training home for British volleyball.
  • To work with UK Sport to provide support to the BVF and IBB Polonia and help them find a permanent training and events home for British volleyball in their preferred location of London. “

Following debate and upon being put to the vote, the motion was agreed unanimously.
