Hopes and Dreams: A half day of talks, stalls and workshops on youth ambition, opportunities and collaboration

Chair of the London Assembly, Lord Duvall OBE is hosting Hopes and Dreams - a half day of talks, stalls and workshops, in collaboration with the London Youth Assembly (LYA).

Date: Saturday 21st March

Time: 11:00 – 13:30

Venue: City Hall

Age limit: 14-20 years old and up to 25 for young people with Special Educational Needs

Themes for the day are guided by the London Youth Assembly’s priorities; this year, the LYA is focussing on young people's challenges across the following topics:

  1. Youth Democratic Engagement

  1. Mental Health

  1. Employability and Skills for all (including those with caring responsibilities)

‘Hopes and Dreams’ will also provide an opportunity to hear from peers beyond London about similar experiences and create a space for meaningful dialogue on how to address these shared challenges. By bringing together diverse voices and perspectives, the event aims to inspire actionable solutions, strengthen youth engagement in governance, and build a sense of community among young Londoners.

What to expect:

  • Keynote speeches from high profile guests

  • A Panel discussion on opportunities for young Londoners

  • Workshops such as:

Participants will learn practical tools for advocacy, explore case studies of successful engagement, and discuss strategies to address challenges in community involvement and representation effectively.

Mental Health First Aid
