Join the South Kenton and Preston Park Residents Association (SKPPRA) to plant trees in two parks. Please bring spades, forks, trowels and gloves if you can, and wear suitable protective footwear. No need to book, please contact [email protected] with any questions.

 

Brentford Community Planting, Hounslow

9:30 am - 4:30 pm, meet opposite Brentford Towers, Green Dragon Lane, Brentford TW8 0DH

Help Air Quality Brentford plant 100 tree saplings around Brentford throughout the day. Bring a garden spade, gloves and watering can if you have one. Everyone welcome, just turn up or contact [email protected].

Meath Gardens, Tower Hamlets

10 am - 3 pm, Smart Street, E2 0SN

Friends of Meath Gardens (FoMG) is a community organisation dedicated to caring for and improving this lovely space in Bethnal Green for all to enjoy. Join them to help plant trees, shrubs and bulbs to make Meath Gardens even more beautiful. Meet on the Meath Gardens side of the Regents Canal footbridge from Mile End Park.

Kingston Hill Campus, Kingston University, Kingston upon Thames

10 am - 4:30 pm Kingston Hill Campus, Coombehurst House Music School. Kingston upon Thames, KT2 7LB (once in the campus follow signs towards the Reception and then towards Coombehurst house).

Join The Kingston University Biodiversity Action Group, planting trees in their woodland where they have been clearing out invasive rhododendrons. To register and detailed joining instructions on where we will be on the campus please email [email protected] by Friday morning.

Join the Friends of Maryon and Maryon Wilson Parks to plant trees as part of one of their monthly work days. No need to register, just turn up at the gazebo in the north-east corner of Maryon Wilson Park.

Streatham Common, Lambeth

Come and help Sccoop plant 250 trees and hedging whips across Streatham Common to provide understory cover and additional wildlife habitat. Meet at the Community Garden door in The Rookery.

Join The Friends of Higham Hill Park to plant 30 trees funded by the Greener City Fund and Waltham Forest Council. Bring your family to help plant this much needed arboretum. No need to register.

 

Thornhill Square, Islington

Join Thornhill Square Association to plant wildlife-friendly shrubs around the square and church gardens. Just turn up, tools provided.

 

Downhills Park, Haringey

Join Friends of Downhills Park for a morning of tree planting. Meet at the cafe near the tennis courts, no need to register. Please bring your own gloves, spade or trowel if you have them.

 

Harris Primary Academy Kent House, Bromley

Join Harris Primary Academy Kent House to plant trees within the school grounds. Please use side entrance on Kent House Road and bring your own spade and gloves if you have them.

 

East and West Bank, Hackney

10 am - 1 pm, corner of Dunsmure Road and West Bank, Stamford Hill, N16 5PP

Join East West Bank Nature Reserve Volunteers to help make Hackney greener. Litter clearing and planting shrubs on the East West Bank Nature Reserve - a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation. All are welcome for all or part of the event. Wear sturdy shoes, gloves and tools will be provided.

Norwood Park, Lambeth

Join London Wildlife Trust at any point during the day to plant a tree (or three) as part of London's biggest ever tree planting event. The event is supported by Lambeth Council, the Mayor of London and Heritage Lottery Fund. Open to all, no need to book.

Join Roe Green Village Residents Association to plant tree saplings within the village and park. Everyone welcome. Children to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please bring a small shovel/spade. Supported by Brent Council, councillors and Veolia.

Join the Friends of Brook Green to help them plant 250 saplings to create a wildlife hedge and to help make this community space even more beautiful. Meet at the Pavillion by the tennis courts at Brook Green.

Join the Collingwood Greens for seasonal cheer and a spot of tree planting. Alongside the planting will be an event in Collingwood Hall to warm up after getting your fingers green. Warm up with free food, hot chocolate, fun activities, henna and face painting. Fun for all ages.

Join John Billam Tenterden Friends of Parks and Neighbourhood group to plant 50 shrubs at Tenterden Sports Ground to create a screen between the elders' flats gardens and the football pitch.

Join Urban Growth to plant 100 small woodland trees and shrubs around the perimeter of Brixton Orchard, a community project that encourages people to interact with and learn about the natural world on their doorstep.

Join the Canalside Residents' Association to plant 50 trees. Meet at the Whitmore Community Centre.

 

Albert Road Recreation Ground, Haringey

10 am - 12 noon, Durnsford Road, N22 7XL

Friends of Albert Road Recreation Ground (FARRG) will be holding a community event to plant trees, shrubs and hedging whips to provide shade and additional wildlife habitats in the park. No need to register. Refreshments provided in the Pavilion Cafe. 

 

Broomfield Park, Enfield

10 am - 12 noon & 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm, Broomfield Lane, Palmers Green, N13 4HE

Join the Friends of Broomfield Park to plant 600 trees, creating a hedgerow along Aldermans Hill, opposite Derwent Road near the Boating Pond. Bring a garden spade and gardening gloves. No need to register.

 

Hounslow Heath, Hounslow

Corinthian Casuals Football Club, Kingston upon Thames

10 am - 1 pm, King George's Field Ground, Queen Mary Close, Hook Rise South, Tolworth, KT6 7NA

Come and visit one of Tolworth’s hidden gems, Corinthian Casuals Football Club, as part of London’s biggest tree planting event. 50 saplings will be planted  to celebrate the club’s importance as a hub of the community and bolster biodiversity on site. Refreshments are kindly being provided by CCFC.

Come and join the Friends of Harrow Weald Recreation Ground for a morning of tree planting, daffodil planting, meeting nice local people with a cup of tea and maybe some cake.

 

Stonebridge Lock, Haringey

Join Plastic Free Hackney to plant over 300 tree saplings with help from the Canal and River Trust. Bring a spade if you can and wear appropriate clothing - the more the merrier!

Walthamstow Wetlands, Waltham Forest

Join London Wildlife Trust to explore Walthamstow Wetlands and learn how to identify trees in winter and their importance in the ecosystem. Discover the body language of trees and help plant young trees across the reserve. This event is for adults only and is based outside - please dress for the weather.

Kingston Road Recreation Ground Action Group will be planting 50 trees to create a wildlife hedge, working with Kingston Environment Centre and Kingston Council, and supported by the Conservation Volunteers.

East: Forest Road Recreation Ground, Redbridge

Saturday 1 December

Trees for Cities are teaming up with the Redbridge Council and Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure to plant a new edible woodland at Forest Road Extension. With a total of 15,000 young trees (whips) to be planted, this will be the weekend's flagship event.

North: Montagu Recreation Ground, Enfield

Sunday 2 December

Together with Enfield Council, Trees for Cities are planting over 3,000 young trees (whips) at Montagu Recreation Ground. Planting these trees will help improve air quality in the area, and make the space even greener and a better place for residents to enjoy.

South: Beckenham Place Park, Lewisham

Sunday 2 December

Trees for Cities are working with Lewisham Council to re-establish an area of woodland on Crab Hill in Beckenham Place Park. The woodland will bring splashes of colour throughout the seasons and attract bees, birds and butterflies! Local people will also be able to forage the fruits and nuts that grow there.

West: Perivale Park, Ealing

Sunday 2 December

Trees for Cities are planting 5,000 young trees (whips) with Ealing Council as part of the major Brent River restoration project to improve biodiversity, flood defences and water quality. This event is supported by Npower.
