Key information

Request reference number: MGLA011222-4650

Date of response:

Summary of request

Your request

Under the Mayor’s wish to expand the ULEZ to the London Boroughs, can you please supply the up to date background critical measures pollution levels NOx, NO2, PM10 and PM2.5 for the boroughs that are included within the proposal. What measures are being used for the determination?

Our response

The GLA regularly reports on air quality trends in London. This reporting uses data from the city’s air quality monitoring network to analyse the long term trends in pollution concentrations. The most recent modelling is the London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (LAEI) 2019. You can access the data, including borough breakdowns, on the London Datastore: London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (LAEI) 2019 - London Datastore

The expected air quality impacts of a London-wide ULEZ, including in individual boroughs, were modelled and published as part of the consultation on the proposals. This modelling was produced by Imperial College London in collaboration with Transport for London (TfL). You can read this document (“Our proposals to help improve air quality, tackle the climate emergency and reduce congestion by expanding the ULEZ London-wide”) on the TfL consultation website: Improving air quality and Londoners' health, tackling climate change and reducing congestion | Have Your Say Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)
