Summary
This report uses an updated methodology to provide a modelled estimate of the impact of air pollution in London on hospital admissions for asthma between 2014 - 2016 and between 2017 - 2019.
The report finds that admissions have gone down in all age groups, most significantly in children aged 0 - 14 where air pollution related admissions went down by 30 per cent. Across all age groups the poor air quality led to around 1,700 London hospital admissions for asthma and serious lung conditions between 2017 and 2019 down from over 4,000 between 2014 and 2016.
