Severe weather risks

Environment Committee - 10.00am in Committee Room 2

The Committee will begin its investigation into the likelihood and impact of severe weather events in London.

The following guests will be questioned:

  • Dr Matt Huddleston, Met Office Climate Scientist and representative on the London Climate Change Partnership;
  • Professor Martin Parry OBE, member of the Adaptation Sub-committee of the UK’s statutory Committee on Climate Change and visiting professor at Imperial College London;
  • Dr Emily Black, Senior Research Fellow, University of Reading and National Centre for Atmospheric Science, Climate division; and
  • Simon Hughes, Deputy Director for London, Environment Agency

The Future of the Tube

Transport Committee – 10.00am in the Chamber

The Committee will be examining progress in upgrading Tube lines and stations, TfL’s Fit for the Future programme, including proposals to close ticket offices, and progress on cutting delays.

The following guests will be questioned:

  • Mike Brown, Managing Director of London Underground and London Rail, TfL;
  • David Waboso, Capital Programmes Director, London Underground, TfL;
  • David James, Chair of Independent Investment Programme Advisory Group (IIPAG); and
  • Richard Anderson, Managing Director of the Railway and Transport Strategy Centre, Imperial College London and Project Director of CoMET

Access to Sexual Health Services

Health Committee – 2pm in the Chamber

  • Peter Taylor, Lead Commissioner, Sexual & Reproductive Health, Royal Borough of Kingston and NHS Kingston Clinical Commissioning Group;
  • Dr Anatole Menon-Johansson, Clinical Lead for Sexual Health, Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust;
  • Harriet Gill, Area Director, Brook, London and South East; and
  • A representative from the Terence Higgins Trust;
