Revised draft Local Plan: Introduction
OPDC was set-up to coordinate and capture the full value and opportunity of the Elizabeth Line and High Speed 2.
The Local Plan for the Old Oak and Park Royal area will cover a 20 year period. The Local Plan will create a clear strategy for the area during that time.
As the local planning authority, the document sets out how OPDC will provide housing, how we deliver economic growth and a sustainable and vibrant area that will benefit the local communities and London.
This is the second consultation for the Local Plan and the first, carried out on in 2016 helped shape this document.
How does the Local Plan work in relation to other planning docs?
- National Planning Policy Framework and Planning Practice Guidance – these provide overarching guidance and set out clear instructions for local planning authorities across the country
- London Plan – the Mayor of London will be releasing a new London Plan later this year for planning guidance specifically for London
- Local Plan – this is the key document for an area that will be used to review any planning applications and sets out the spatial vision for the area
- West London Waste Plan - this is a joint document developed by west London boroughs and the OOPDC to sustainably manage waste in west London
- Neighbourhood Plan – these documents sit alongside and collaborate with the Local Plan
- Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) – these documents provide supplementary guidance to the Local Plan for different themes and areas
