For several years there have been calls for police to tackle the high crime on an estate in Southgate Green Ward. This request was largely ignored until recently when, thanks to the work of Sgt Meeke's and her emphasis on local policing, crime has now disappeared in the area. What more can be done to ensure police take local concerns about anti-social behaviour (ASB) seriously? Do we need to send out stronger messages, to both residents and the police, that ASB will not be tolerated and can be prevented?
