Greenest Mayor ever (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Leonie Cooper
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Léonie Cooper AM: Thank you very much. Chair. I am going to go back to Assembly Member Pidgeon, who a very long time ago talked about devolution of powers. I wonder if I could ask you, Mr Mayor, on retrofit, which we have just been discussing, does the London Mayoralty have enough powers to deal with this?

Listening to London (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Len Duvall AM: Thank you very much, Chair. Who do you think the Conservative Government was listening to when during the COVID-19 crisis they tried to take away the concessions pass and also introduce a London-wide congestion scheme? Who do you think they were listening to then when they were doing that? I presume all Conservatives supported that, not just the few in Government.

Listening to London (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Joanne McCartney AM: Thank you. Mr Mayor, because you have listened, you have started building council homes again for Londoners at a great rate. I spent a day recently with your Deputy Mayor [for Housing and Residential Development], Tom Copley and the leader of Haringey Council visiting a number of construction sites where new council homes are being built. Their joint ambition with you is to build 3,000 council homes in Haringey and they are well on to that because of the money that you have provided them. Can I just ask you, what impact has your council homes building...

Listening to London (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Emma Best AM: Thank you. My Mayor, there is a group of Londoners that really do not feel listened to and that is those organisations representing disabled people, blind people, deaf people and elderly people across London. I mistakenly said there was 150 organisations. There are 270 plus that have signed that petition for the immediate pause and removal of all floating bus stops. One of the issues that they do not feel listened to is particularly when it comes to the Walking and Cycling Commissioner, [Dr] Will Norman, who is very pro this measure, is also conducting the safety...

Climate Crisis (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Andrew Boff
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Andrew Boff AM (Chair): Thank you. If we could go on to the clock, please. Bearing in mind what you said, Mr Mayor, about climate change and the climate crisis, why would you therefore not sign the Plant-Based Treaty? Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London): Chair, can I go to the answer I prepared for your question? Andrew Boff AM (Chair): I do not want the whole answer, I just want to know why you would not.

Londoners’ Biggest Regrets About Your Mayoralty (Supplementary) [6]

  • Question by: Sem Moema
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Sem Moema AM: Thank you, Chair. Good morning, Mayor Khan. I wanted to ask you whether or not you regret having to work with this Government, given the impact that they have had with their disastrous Mini Budget, the impact it has had on rents, the impact it has had on mortgages, as you already said, the impact on construction inflation, and the money in people’s pockets, or lack thereof. I wonder if you could reflect on that -- Neil Garratt AM: I believe the question is about Londoners’ regrets, not the Mayor’s regrets, Chair. Sem Moema AM: I am...

Londoners’ Biggest Regrets About Your Mayoralty (Supplementary) [5]

  • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Lord Bailey of Paddington AM: Morning Chair. Morning, Mayor. I hesitate to use these words. Do you regret that just three per cent of the homes from your current Affordable Homes Programme (AHP), a £4 billion programme, have been started when we are over halfway through the programme?

Londoners’ Biggest Regrets About Your Mayoralty (Supplementary) [4]

  • Question by: Nick Rogers
  • Meeting date: 15 March 2024
Nick Rogers AM: Thank you, Chair. Good morning, Mr Mayor. Londoners in my constituency in the Borough of Hounslow have been in touch to express their regrets at TfL’s decision to delay the extension of the E1 bus from Ealing to Osterley, pushed back to May 2027. I appreciate you will not have the details of this in your briefing, but Osterley is a poorly connected area in terms of public transport. At the moment, if you want to get to Ealing via bus, it is two buses you have to take, which can take 45 minutes. It is a...
