You have previously identified Vauxhall Cross and Greenwich as locations where you expect to deliver continental-quality provision for cyclists. You also stated in answer to question 1286/2012, regarding your timetable for identifying three high profile Go Dutch locations, that you had asked your Deputy Mayor for Transport to meet with the London Cycling Campaign (LCC) to discuss this in detail. The LCC is not aware of such a meeting being arranged. When will the public consultation on the flagship schemes commence?

Can you comment on the decision of LOCOG to close the popular Lea Valley towpath from Homerton to Bow, at just two months notice, throughout the whole summer, and not just the Olympic and Paralympics Games period, because of security issues? With both the towpath and the Wick Lane to Stratford High Street section of Greenway closed what safe routes are walkers and cyclists expected to take?

Homes to rent in Hackney

Hackney Citizens Advice Bureau recently conducted a survey of the 1,585 properties that were available to let in their borough via Rightmove and Gumtree on the 15th June 2012. They found that only 143 of those homes were advertised at rents that fell below the Local Housing Allowance caps, and that only 14 of those were let by landlords who were willing to let to housing benefit recipients. Of the 1,090 properties with two or more bedrooms, suitable for families, only 36 were within the benefit caps and only 5 of those were let by landlords willing to accept benefit...

Your February 2010 Housing Strategy committed you to undertaking a London-specific assessment of the private rented sector to identify sub-markets. This appears to have been dropped in your draft revised strategy published for consultation in December 2011. Are you still committed to carrying out this research and if so when can we expect it to be published?
