Thank you for your response to my question 2016/3057. On 2 November 2016 the Assembly passed a motion urging you to "continue to press the Government for the devolution of more powers over the private [rented] sector in London". There was no mention of any new renting powers in the Memorandum of Understanding published alongside the Budget on 8 March 2017, so could you give me an update on the progress of your negotiations on landlord licensing powers?

Small traders at Elephant and Castle

Small traders at the Elephant and Castle shopping centre are suffering as a result of plans to demolish and redevelop the centre, and have endured many years of uncertainty, planning blight and declining trade. The planning application recently submitted for the centre's redevelopment makes no provision for either retaining small traders or helping them relocate. This shopping centre is at the heart of one of your Opportunity Areas. Will you intervene on behalf of the small traders, many of whom come from black and minority ethnic backgrounds?

Business rate increase - solar on businesses

In answer to my question 2016/3673 you said that you will write to the Government regarding the proposed business rate increase for businesses that own solar panels, which you described as "likely to have a significant detrimental impact upon the financial business case for installing solar PV". What is a) your response to the Chancellor's silence on these proposed business rates in the recent Budget, and b) the potential effect on your forthcoming solar action plan?

According to King's College London, during the highest air pollution alert issued by you in January 2017, alongside traffic pollution wood burning stoves were a contributing factor. As they are currently exempt from pollution controls, will you advise people not to use wood burning stoves in future air pollution alerts?

According to King's College London research commissioned by Transport for London (TfL) and the GLA on 'understanding the health impacts of air pollution in London', the public health costs of particulate and nitrogen dioxide (N02) emissions, based on 2010 data, were estimated at up to £3.7 billion per annum. Do you have a more recent estimate of the public health costs of air pollution in London?
