At the Police and Crime Committee meeting on 23 March 2017, I asked the Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) about the release of alarming images of guns and knives retrieved in surrender initiatives to the press and social media. Section 77 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 outlines the power of the GLA, exercisable by the Mayor of London, to promote or oppose Bills in Parliament. Do you agree with me that charities sharing information with Home Office immigration enforcement that may lead to the deportation of non-UK rough sleepers may harm the work of charities by discouraging rough sleepers from engaging with them?
