Council leaders of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, and Waltham Forest are finding it difficult to prevent the exploitation of tenants due to the costly and laborious signoff process councils must go through with the Government to introduce area-wide licensing for landlords. Could you provide us with an update on your discussions with Government about powers to introduce extended and borough-wide licensing schemes in London?
